OK, not the same issue I had then with usb.inf. I really appreciate the insight and your opinion about when others think it's the drivers. Building a PC is pretty much a last ditch effort because I'm getting so desperate haha.

This driver is not for Windows 8/8.1/10 as they have USB 3.0 support built in, so a separate driver is not required. Which version of Windows are you using? For Windows 7 only - as you mention the xHCI controller is showing the error, it may be worth trying re-installing the Intel USB 3.0 driver. And the problem normally remains unsolved.
