I have also checked and verified all users who cannot see this "Presence Icon" have the name.dll file loaded and they have also added our Sharepoint site to their "Trusted/Intranet" in IE7 with no help in getting this function to work. Our Sharepoint site is only being used on the INTRANET side for internal office use only if that matters. I have checked on the Central Admin for Sharepoint and under "Web Applications General Settings" it is set to "Yes" for "Person Name Smart Tag and Online Presence" that is why our 1 user is able to see their presence icon so I have eliminated Sharepoint Services as why are other users are unable to see this presence icon. Some of the other users can see the button but its greyed out and the lights never change colors/light up according to their Messenger status. In the column of who the task is assigned to you are also suppose to get a "online presence icon" this icon is appearing for only 1 of our users and no one else.
